NFIB/NY Speaks Out on $15/Hr. Minimum Wage & Paid Leave

Date: April 07, 2016

NFIB worked tirelessly on behalf of its members to fight back against Governor Cuomo’s plan for the largest minimum wage hike in state history and the most expansive mandated paid leave program in the country.

Our campaign aimed to educate the public and lawmakers about the negative impacts of both proposals on small business using the following tactics:

  • Hosting Small Business Advocacy Day and Lobbying Lawmakers
  • Holding Press Conferences
  • Sending Action Alerts to Members Asking them to Contact Lawmakers
  • Engaging on Social Media
  • Speaking with the Press

NFIB/NY’s leadership in the fight against the minimum wage hike and mandated paid leave can be seen in the media. In recent weeks, NFIB/NY State Director Mike Durant has provided commentary to many news outlets across the state.
