New Jersey Issues Guidance for Outdoor Dining

Date: June 04, 2020

Begins on June 15

Governor Phil Murphy announced recently that restaurants, bars and other food establishments may serve patrons in person in an outdoor setting beginning on June 15. He explained that the rationale is the risk is lower outside for COVID-19 transmission. The Governor says the dining outside must be handled in accordance with CDC and Department of Health safeguards.

The state has now issued guidance including requirements that tables are located six feet from each other,, only 8 customers are allowed at each table, and the business must post signs telling patrons that they should not come in if they have any symptoms of illness.
