CARSON CITY, Nev., Aug. 10, 2018—Nevada’s leading small-business association today announced its new grassroots manager for the state. She is Elizabeth Parks, whose experience is perfectly suited to the job of continuing to make NFIB the true Voice of Small Business.

Parks will work to increase NFIB-member activism in the legislative process and to recruit new small-business owners to the cause. Her job will include rallying the troops to stop bad-for-small-business bills from passing the Nevada Legislature, as well as helping to push good-for-Main-Street measures to passage.

Born and raised in Fairhope, Alabama, Parks graduated from Auburn University with bachelor of arts degrees in history and political science. She later went to work for U.S. Rep. Alan Nunnelee (MS-01) and remained to help his successor, U.S. Rep. Trent Kelly, when Nunnelee passed away. She managed Kelly’s successful run for Congress and later served as his deputy chief of staff. During her 11 years on Capitol Hill, Parks helped shape national, small-business policy and directed constituent services and policy for both congressmen.

Parks and her husband, Chris, a U.S. Marine Corps major now in the Marine Corps Reserve, make their home in Sacramento, California, along with their son, one-year-old Patrick. The Parks are avid outdoors explorers who consider living and working in Nevada and California a dream come true. Elizabeth Parks will also serve as NFIB’s California grassroots manager.

“With her organizational, campaign, and government relations background, we hit a real trifecta of experience with Elizabeth Parks,” said Randi Thompson, Nevada state director for NFIB. “We are excited with her coming aboard to help Nevada small businesses.”

Said Parks, “To be able to help the backbone of the American economy in a vibrant state like Nevada is a professional opportunity you just can’t pass up. I am beyond excited to start work with Randi, our leadership council, and all our NFIB members in the Silver State.”
