NFIB State Director Brad Jones said small businesses in Missouri are struggling to overcome supply chain disruptions and a lack of workers.
“Problems with the supply chain on top of Missouri’s labor shortage are making it hard for small businesses to provide the goods and services people need,” he said. “It’s not unusual anymore to see empty shelves or see businesses close early because they can’t find anyone to work.”
Small businesses nationwide are struggling with similar issues, he said, but he said Missouri owners are determined to get through this.
“Small business is the engine that drives Missouri’s economy,” Jones said. “When legislators return to Jefferson City in January, we will be there encouraging them to take the actions necessary to support the state’s small businesses and help them regain the ground they’ve lost during the pandemic.”
