U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (3rd District) met today with small business owners from across the state as part of NFIB’s Virtual Fly-In.
Ordinarily, NFIB members gather in Washington, D.C., each summer to learn more about the issues affecting America’s small businesses and meet with lawmakers and their staffs on Capitol Hill, but because of concerns over the pandemic, this year’s event was held online.
Luetkemeyer, the ranking member of the House Small Business Committee, discussed a number of critical issues including deregulation, taxes, and helping businesses recover from the economic downturn created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Through no fault of their own, small businesses faced extreme challenges,” Luetkemeyer said. “Prior to the pandemic, small businesses were reporting great optimism and confidence that resulted from low taxes and a smart regulatory environment. It’s important that we return to this environment which allows small businesses to grow, expand and create jobs.”
NFIB State Director Brad Jones said, “Congressman Luetkemeyer is a true friend of Missouri’s small businesses. We appreciate him taking time to connect with our members and talk about some of the issues affecting their ability to grow and create jobs.”
