NFIB State Director Brad Jones went on KMOX radio in St. Louis recently to talk about the need to support local businesses on Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday shopping season.
Small Business Saturday was Nov. 26. Shoppers spent an estimated $23.3 billion nationwide on Small Business Saturday, according to a survey by American Express and NFIB.
Jones said it’s been a difficult couple of years for Missouri’s small businesses, beginning with the pandemic and continuing with the ongoing challenges with labor and the supply chain.
“They’re starting to get their feet back on the ground,” Jones said. Small business is the foundation of the state’s economy, so people should support local, independent shops and restaurants and “not only thank them with your dollars but thank them for what they do all the time for your community.”
