Washington Small Business Day 2020

Date: January 26, 2020

February 4 is your time to meet fellow small-business owners, hear from and talk to top policymakers

Washington state’s premier free-enterprise advocacy day, NFIB’s Small Business Day at the Capitol, is February 4 in Olympia.

Legislators urgently need to hear from you. The 2020 session is in full swing, and you can help guide proposed bills vital to the operation of your business to passage–and harmful ones to defeat. Lawmakers know that no one speaks with more authority on small-business issues than small-business owners themselves—which is why we need you at the State Capitol.

This event will feature:

  • Senate Republican Leader Mark Schoesler
  • House Republican Leader JT Wilcox
  • Tax Structure Workgroup Co-chairwoman Rep. Noel Frame
  • Former Rep. Mark Harmsworth, who is the new director of the Washington Policy Center’s Small Business Center
  • Staff from the Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board and/or the Employment Security Department (ESD)

Registration will open at 6:30 a.m. for those arriving to participate in any of the 8 a.m. legislative committees. The day will include briefings, lunch, and a trip to the State Capitol. Lodging may still be available at the Hilton Garden Inn Olympia, 2101 Henderson Park LN SE, Olympia. Contact the Hilton Garden Inn Olympia directly at 360-236-9934. (Please note, the NFIB room block is closed.)

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in question-and-answer sessions with these policymakers; attend, and perhaps testify at, legislative committee hearings; as well as meet with state legislators from their local area.
