NFIB Holds Virtual Small Business Day

Date: May 20, 2021

State Rep. Michael Echols and Kevin Kuhlman, NFIB’s Vice President of Federal Government Relations, spoke recently at NFIB’s Louisiana Virtual Small Business Day.

NFIB State Director Dawn Starns said Small Business Day is usually held in person in Baton Rouge, but this year’s event was held online on May 14 because of the pandemic.

Joining the virtual event from his parked car, Representative Echols briefed NFIB members on his amendment to incentivize people who lost their jobs because of the COVID-19 pandemic to reenter the workforce.

Kuhlman, meanwhile, spoke about a host of federal issues that could have a big impact on people’s small businesses.

McVea said the online meeting gave members from around the state the opportunity to learn more about the state and federal issues affecting their small businesses. “Hopefully, we’ll be able to meet in person next year,” she said.
