In a Difficult Hiring Environment, Know Your Options in TN

NFIB members in Tennessee continue to share the frustration that it is difficult to find qualified workers. Where should one look to post jobs and find applicants? Here are a few options and resources. 

Jobs4TN.gov 

The state’s Jobs4TN.gov website allows employers to post jobs and in some instances view résumés of potential recruits. More than 240,000 jobs are posted as of today. Visit My Employer Guest Workspacewhere you will find: 

  • Recruitment ServicesPost job openings, find qualified candidates, and access a wide variety of information designed to help a business succeed. 
  • Education ServicesFind a suitable training or educational program, as well as information on training providers and schools. 
  • Labor Market ServicesAccess information about labor market trends, statistics, and economic and demographic data. 
  • Unemployment ServicesInformation about how to manage claims against your company, employer charges, appeals, and determinations.

Find your TCAT 

There are 27 Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCATs) across the stateoffering more than 70 occupational programs to help job seekers train for a career and help businesses build a skilled workforce. Local industry demand determines the programs each campus offers. Instructors are experienced in the occupation they teach and are expected to maintain occupational certifications or licenses. To see all TCAT locations visit here.

Contact your local chamber of commerce 

Many chambers of commerce across Tennessee have websites dedicated to job postings. They are great resources for small businesses looking to find workers in their areas. These sites are an excellent complement to many of the online recruiter websites.
