82 TN Legislators Earn 100% Small Business Voting Records

Date: July 24, 2020

NFIB Tennessee today announced that 82 members – 26 senators and 56 representatives – of the 111th Tennessee General Assembly achieved a 100 percent NFIB Voting Record in the 2019-2020 legislative sessions.

“NFIB members in Tennessee are grateful that many state legislators consistently support them on the issues that impact their businesses,” NFIB Tennessee State Director Jim Brown said.

“Many legislators not only own and operate their own businesses but also know and hear from NFIB members back in their districts,” Brown said. “This helps them understand the challenges fellow risk-takers are facing in operating a small enterprise, especially during these challenging times.”

Brown noted the NFIB Voting Record does not reflect every element considered by a lawmaker when voting, nor does it represent a complete profile of a legislator. The 2019-20 voting record includes nine key votes in the Senate and 11 in the House on issues important to small businesses, including tax, tort, labor, regulatory, and healthcare reforms.
