Illinois Leadership Council Meets

For the first time in nearly two years, the NFIB Illinois Leadership Council met face-to-face to discuss major issues small businesses are facing in Illinois. They received briefings from Kevin Kuhlman, V.P. for Federal Government Relations; State Representative Keith Wheeler, Illinois State Director Mark Grant; and Jamie Cobby, Senior Grassroots Manager. Members uniformly stated that finding and retaining good workers was a major issue. LC Chair, Cindy Neal, owner of Express Employment Professionals in Peoria Heights, confirmed that its widespread.

LC members also discussed on-going concerns about the state’s financial and pension problems continuing to exacerbate rising property taxes. They also learned in-depth details on President Biden’s proposed “Build Back Better” legislation that includes a variety of tax increases on family owned businesses and corporations.
