"An unwavering supporter of Tennessee’s small businesses since the day he took office”
The Tennessee office of NFIB, the state’s leading small business advocacy organization, today presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business award to House Speaker Cameron Sexton (District 25). NFIB made the presentation this afternoon at Mayberry’s Furniture, an NFIB member in Crossville.
The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business. The NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to the legislator for his outstanding leadership on small-business issues.
“Cameron Sexton has been an unwavering supporter of Tennessee’s small businesses since the day he took office,” said NFIB State Director Jim Brown, noting Sexton’s exceptional lifetime NFIB Voting Record. “Speaker Sexton understands that our state’s job creators and risk takers need a predictable, stable environment to be able to compete and succeed. He has been a problem solver and consistent advocate for small businesses in his district and across Tennessee.”
“I am honored to receive the NFIB Guardian of Small Business award,” said Speaker Sexton. “Small businesses drive our local economy, and they remain the backbone of our statewide economy. I will continue to support policies that enhance our commitment to lowering taxes and also remove burdensome regulations. This will continue to level the playing field for our small businesses, while also creating additional resources that allow them to succeed.”
