U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan (1st District) visited Royal Basket Trucks Inc., an NFIB member business in Darien, on Oct. 30 to take the NFIB Small Business Challenge.
The NFIB Small Business Challenge is a national campaign that invites lawmakers to spend a day “on the job” at a small business in their community and allows them to experience firsthand the challenges small-business owners face, including day-to-day management, compliance, and tax issues.
The event gave Speaker Ryan the opportunity to learn more about the challenges of running a small business. He later spoke to Royal Basket Trucks employees and invited guests to talk about tax reform and other small business issues.
Ryan said, “Our goal of tax reform and all of our economic policies is to make sure that we can maximize our potential as a country and to make sure that we can have the kinds of jobs that people can raise good families on.”
NFIB State Director Bill Smith said, “We appreciate Speaker Ryan taking time to meet with our members and talk to them about the issues that are important to them.”
