Lisa Fullerton, president and CEO of A Novel Idea LLC., owner of five Auntie Anne’s and two Cinnabon franchises in San Antonio, has been received the Ken Legler Small Business Champion Award from the Texas office of NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization.

NFIB’s state director for Texas, Annie Spilman, and Barbara Legler, the wife of the late Ken Legler, presented the award to Fullerton at this week’s NFIB Small Business Day at the Capitol in Austin.

“Since joining NFIB in 2016, Lisa has proven herself as a tireless advocate for small business,” Spilman said. “As a member of the NFIB Texas Leadership Council, Lisa has marched the halls of the Capitol, not just in Austin but in Washington, D.C.

“Lisa has helped state legislators and members of Congress understand the challenges of running a small business and helped pass legislation that eases the regulatory burden on small businesses and makes it easier for them to grow and create jobs.

“She is a selfless and insistent voice for small business, and, on behalf of our members, I am proud to present her with this award,” Spilman said.

The Ken Legler Small Business Champion Award is named in honor of the late Ken Legler, a longtime NFIB member from Pasadena who served in the Texas House from 2009 to 2012.
