Empowering members through grassroots efforts

Lobbying for the small-business agenda in Indianapolis is the first and most important product NFIB delivers for its members, the success of which starts with the quality of its grassroots manager.

NFIB is happy to have Natalie Robinson join your team as the grassroots manager for Indiana. Thus far, Natalie says she’s enjoying her role with the NFIB, but her favorite part has been getting to know the members. “Developing meaningful relationships with members is a critical step in cultivating activists,” Natalie said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to empower members to come together through grassroots efforts and work towards a common goal which can make a much bigger impact than acting alone.”

Prior to joining the NFIB, Natalie spent 11 years working for the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, where, among her many other accomplishments, she established the state’s first and largest Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force. She worked to convene more than 100 volunteers consisting of local, state and federal agencies, state legislators, academia, health-care and providers, pharmacists and other advocates to help fight the opioid epidemic.

In addition to her role as director of education and outreach, her work for three Attorneys General included legislative liaison, director of marketing, and interim press secretary. Before working with the State of Indiana, Robinson was an account manager for a full-service advertising agency for more than five years where she specialized in the public sector and non-profit accounts.

She was the recipient of the Certificate of Excellence in Public Service award in 2010 and the Outstanding Community Engagement award in 2016. Robinson received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University in 2001 with a major in Communications and minor in Business Marketing. She currently resides lives in Plainfield, Indiana.

Robinson also serves as NFIB’s grassroots manager in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota. As Indiana’s grassroots manager, she will assist state director Barbara Underwood, to rally NFIB members to be the voice of small business through efforts such as making calls, writing letters, paying visits to legislators and testifying on legislation vital to small-business success.
