NFIB State Director Annie Spilman says John McCord has been hired as the association’s state legislative director.
McCord, who most recently served as chief of staff to state Rep. Cindy Burkett (113th District), will advocate for small business in the Texas State Capitol and work closely with Spilman on important issues such as tax reform and regulatory relief.
McCord previously served as political director and deputy executive director of the Republican Party of Texas. He also spent over a decade working on grassroots campaigns and advancing legislative agendas in the Texas Capitol.
“John brings a deep knowledge of the Texas Legislature and a passion for small business,” Spilman said. “Those are skills that will help the voice of small business be heard here in Austin.”
