Small Business Owners from Florida Converge on Capitol Hill

Date: June 29, 2018

Nearly 70 NFIB members from Florida traveled to Washington DC last week as part of NFIB’s 75th Anniversary Celebration and Fly In. They joined over 600 members from across the country to recognize NFIB’s 75th years of advocating for small business owners and celebrate the hard work of the entrepreneurs who create jobs and keep our economy running.

Members heard from President Donald J. Trump and took to the US Capitol to share their stories and advocate for making permanent the small business tax cuts included in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, signed into law earlier this year. While on Capitol Hill, they met with 14 members of Florida’s Congressional Delegation, including Senator Marco Rubio.

But the event wasn’t all work. Members had opportunities to take in some history across the nation’s capital, and were treated to a riverboat ride on the Potomac River as well as tours and a fireworks presentation at George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

“We had an incredible time and are more amazed than ever of the huge voice NFIB has had in representing small businesses like ours,” said Gina Paglialonga, who owns Teeming Vacation Rentals and Teeming River Cruises in Winter Park with her husband Jeff.
