Get Involved in Supporting Amendment 2
In 2008, voters passed an amendment to prevent non-homestead property taxes from rising more than 10 percent each year. In 2019, that cap is set to expire. But Amendment 2 on November’s ballot will make that 10 percent tax cap permanent.
If Amendment 2 doesn’t pass, business owners could see their property tax rates rise in unlimited amounts.
That’s why NFIB is a part of the Everybody is for Amendment 2 coalition, and we’re encouraging small business owners to get involved and help pass Amendment 2.
Visit the NFIB member page of the Everybody is for 2 website to get involved. You can request Amendment 2 signage for your home or business, or invite an Everybody is for 2 representative to speak at an upcoming meeting of your local trade or rotary group. You can also let us know if you’d be willing to send a letter to the editor to your local paper encouraging voters to vote yes on Amendment 2.
