NFIB Applauds Proposed Drop in Workers’ Comp Rates

Date: August 30, 2021

NFIB State Executive Director Bill Herrle released the following statement today in response to the proposed Florida workers’ compensation rate filing effective Jan. 1:

“A drop in workers’ comp rates is always welcome news to small businesses. Workers’ comp rates are connected to wages, so this would give small business owners some wiggle room when it comes to competing in the tough labor market.

“Our hope is that Insurance Commissioner David Altmaier approves this 4.9% rate level decrease and provides Florida’s small businesses with the financial relief they need in these difficult times.”
