Florida Ranked No. 11 for Property Taxes

According to the Tax Foundation’s 2019 State Business Tax Climate Index, Florida property tax rates were ranked, overall, 11th in the country—a one-spot decline from 2018’s 10th ranking.

Released annually, the index is a measure of state tax systems and how well they’re structured to help enable policymakers, business leader, and taxpayers to make decisions that may help their state’s economy.

The ten best states for property tax rates include New Mexico, Indiana, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, North Dakota, Missouri, Nevada, Delaware, and Montana.

The ten worst states for property tax rates include Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, New York, District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Illinois, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Maryland.
