Bill Herrle, NFIB’s state executive director for Florida, participated in a virtual debate on Amendment 2, presented by WESH-NBC 2 in Orlando.
The amendment would phase in a $15 minimum wage. Herrle said that would increase the financial pressure on small businesses that are struggling to get through the pandemic. He also said that mandating higher wages would force small businesses to raise prices or make cuts elsewhere, possibly by reducing the overall number of employees.
