MONTPELIER, Oct. 26, 2018 – NFIB, the state’s leading small-business organization, today announced that its Vermont political action committee has endorsed Don Turner to be the state’s next lieutenant governor. Today’s endorsement follows an earlier one of Phil Scott for governor.

“Don Turner received a 100-percent score on his NFIB voting record on key small-business issues in the most recent legislative session,” said Shawn Shouldice, NFIB’s Vermont state director. “As minority leader, he has proven his support for Vermont’s family-owned and independent businesses, and we know he will continue to do that as a Lieutenant Governor.

“Vermont passed the first budget that didn’t raise a single tax or fee, and Don Turner played a leadership role in that outcome. Small businesses need to feel confident the state government isn’t overspending and then overtaxing to pay for it, and Don Turner understands that. NFIB enthusiastically supports his candidacy.”

NFIB is the leading small-business association in the nation with hundreds of members across Vermont, representing a cross-section of the state’s economy. The endorsement comes from the NFIB VT PAC, the association’s state political action committee, which is comprised of Vermont small-business owners.

Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to go to the polls.
