His record proves he is a champion of small business
LANSING, September 19, 2018 — The state’s leading small business organization, NFIB, today announced that its Michigan political action committee had endorsed Tom Leonard in the race for Michigan Attorney General.
“Tom Leonard has a shown a solid track record of support for Michigan small business during his tenure in the State House of Representatives, and he appreciates the important role small business plays in Michigan’s economy and culture,” said Charles Owens, State Director for NFIB in Michigan. “In the NFIB Voting Record which tallies votes on key small issues during the state’s legislative session, he averaged 97-percent during six years he served in the House.”
“In recent years, the office of Attorney General has been the state’s lead advocate in defending against overreach by the federal government and Congress on economic issues such as mandated benefits, labor, and environmental rules,” said Owens. “These issues are critical to Michigan job providers, and we know we can depend on Tom Leonard to continue defending those interests.”
Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the small-business vote for NFIB MI PAC-endorsed candidates this year in the November Elections.
