Special election is April 2
HARRISBURG, March 15, 2019 – NFIB, the nation’s leading small-business association, today announced the endorsement of D. Raja in his bid for state Senate district 37 in Allegheny and Washington Counties. A special election for that seat will be held on Tuesday April 2.
“As a successful local entrepreneur and business owner himself, Raja understands what it takes to start and grow a business,” said Gordon Denlinger, state director of NFIB Pennsylvania.
“Small business owners know that government policies from Harrisburg have a direct impact on them and the business environment in which they operate, leading Pennsylvania down the path of economic growth or decline,” added Denlinger. “Raja understands this and has a strong vision for creating an environment that is rich with economic opportunity. Clearly, he appreciates that high taxes and burdensome regulations do not create jobs or inspire innovation. We need reform-minded lawmakers in Harrisburg who are willing to stand up for the economic potential of Pennsylvania’s job creators and small businesses.”
NFIB has 12,500 small-business members in Pennsylvania representing a cross-section of the state’s economy. The endorsement comes from the NFIB Pennsylvania PAC, the association’s political action committee, and are based on positions regarding key small-business issues, including health care, taxes, labor, and regulatory issues.
Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to turn out the small-business vote for Raja on April 2.
