NFIB Endorses U.S. Senator Ron Johnson for Reelection
At campaign events in Mosinee and De Pere,
Wisconsin, last month, NFIB endorsed U.S. Senator Ron Johnson for reelection
against his opponent, former Senator Russ Feingold.
In a press release, NFIB CEO and President
Juanita Duggan cited Sen. Johnson’s strong record of standing for small
business: “We’re grateful that Senator Johnson is working in Washington to keep
small businesses in Wisconsin healthy and growing. We’re especially proud to
say that the Senator’s business is an NFIB member, someone who created jobs and
prosperity. We need him to continue sharing his wisdom and unique perspective
in the U.S. Senate.”
WisPolitics.com noted that Sen. Johnson has
fought to grow the economy by pushing for reined-in government spending, for
tax reform, and against burdensome regulations (from Obamacare to the EPA
Waters of the U.S. rule). He has worked to give small businesses the freedom to
create jobs and unleash prosperity. In fact, Sen. Johnson scored a perfect
rating on NFIB’s legislative scorecard,
voting in line with NFIB positions on all six votes monitored during this
Congress.
“As a manufacturer—not a career politician—I
appreciate the support of fellow entrepreneurs who have started a business and
helped provide jobs for families in their local communities,” Sen. Johnson
said. “We need to get Washington out of the way of small business owners,
workers, and families who make our private sector economy work from the ground
up.”
Prior to heading to Capitol Hill, he was CEO of
plastic manufacturer PACUR, LLC, the company he founded in 1979 in Oshkosh.
“Senator Johnson understands what it takes to
start a business, grow a business, and meet a payroll,” said Bill G. Smith,
NFIB’s Wisconsin state director in a press release. “The stakes have never been
higher in Madison or Washington, and NFIB is looking forward to putting the
full force of thousands of our members behind the reelection of Senator Ron
Johnson.”
Sen. Johnson’s endorsement comes from the NFIB
SAFE Trust PAC.
