DES MOINES, Iowa (July 22, 2020) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Mariannette Miller-Meeks for election to the United States House of Representatives to represent Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District during a campaign event at a small business in Davenport today.
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks has been a strong supporter of Iowa’s small businesses since being elected to the Iowa state Senate,” said Matt Everson, NFIB’s Iowa State Director. “Miller-Meeks believes in fewer regulations on small businesses, lowering the cost of health care, and pro-growth policies that will lift up small business owners rather than keep them down. On behalf of Iowa’s small businesses in the 2nd Congressional District, we are proud to endorse Mariannette Miller-Meeks for election to the United States House of Representatives.”
Dr. Miller-Meeks is a current member of the Iowa state Senate, military veteran, and ophthalmologist. She was elected to represent the 41st District and has achieved a 100% NFIB voting record.
“Mariannette Miller-Meeks has proven herself to be a strong champion for small businesses in the statehouse,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “She has a deep understanding of our members’ concerns, and we are certain she will continue to keep small businesses’ priorities close at hand in Washington. We look forward to working with her in Congress.”
Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ endorsement today comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by NFIB member donations above membership dues. Decisions made by NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member driven grassroots evaluation process. Small business owners are influential in their communities and NFIB members in Iowa will work hard to elect Mariannette Miller-Meeks to Congress.
