NFIB has joined a coalition of business groups working to defeat the proposed state constitutional amendment creating a progressive income tax in Illinois.
The progressive tax:
- Would raise taxes on the middle class and working poor.
- Would result in fewer jobs and slower wage growth.
- Would not address Illinois’ sky-high property tax rates.
As a small business owner, you know how devastating the progressive tax will be to your company, employees, and the economy. The only way for us to defeat the progressive tax is for you to engage your employees, colleagues, and every single voter you know to warn them of the dangers of imposing yet another tax hike on already over-taxed Illinoisans.
