Dan Forest Earns Small Business Endorsement

Date: October 12, 2016

The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s and North Carolina’s leading small-business association, said today it has endorsed Dan Forest for a second term as lieutenant governor.
“As lieutenant governor and president of the state Senate, Dan Forest supports small business,” said Gregg Thompson, state director of NFIB. “He has joined us throughout the state for a series of small-business roundtables, where he has shown an eagerness to listen to the concerns of small-business owners and to deliver their message to the policymakers in Raleigh.
“He understands that small business is the engine that drives our economy, and he has shown us that he will do everything he can to help small businesses grow and create jobs,” Thompson said.
“On behalf of our small-business members, I’m proud to announce our endorsement of Dan Forest for a second term as lieutenant governor.”
NFIB’s political support is based on the candidate’s position on small-business issues. The endorsement comes from the NFIB North Carolina SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for NFIB’s membership.
Today’s endorsement puts the considerable grassroots support of the state’s small businesses behind the lieutenant governor’s campaign. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to vote.
NFIB will encourage its 7,500 members in North Carolina to help turn out the influential small business voting bloc on Election Day.
