The U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Legal Reform recently ranked Wisconsin’s litigation climate as the 13th best in the nation. Wisconsin moved up seven spots from 20th to 13th as a result of the passage of legislation that improves the civil justice system.
The litigation climate in Wisconsin beat our neighboring states of Minnesota (20), Michigan (33), and Illinois (50).
As President of the Wisconsin Civil Justice Council, NFIB plays a key role supporting significant reforms that will restore fairness and predictability to the civil justice system. Last session, legislation signed into law includes common sense legislation that describes procedures for handling electronic documents and the expensive transactional costs of litigation in civil lawsuits.
