Florida’s Jobless Rate Declined in 2015

Annual average unemployment rate drops from 6.3 to 5.4%.

Florida’s average annual unemployment rate dropped .9 percent in 2015, falling from 6.3 to 5.4 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Florida had the lowest annual average unemployment rate among surround states, with neighbors from Alabama to North Carolina hovering in the 5.5 to 6.4 percent range.

Overall, annual average unemployment rates decreased in 47 states and the District of Columbia, according to the BLS. Meanwhile, unemployment ticked up in two states, and stayed steady in one.
