The Lonestar state showed the most for new businesses.
According to Wallethub’s 2019 “Best & Worst States to Start a Business” report, Texas was ranked as the best state overall. The state ranked first for business environment, 11th for access to resources, and 30th for business costs.
To determine rankings, Wallethub compared the 50 states across 26 key indicators of startup success to determine the most fertile grounds in which to launch and grow an enterprise.
The 10 best states to start a business are: Texas, Utah, Georgia, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Florida, Arizona, California, Montana, and Colorado. The 10 worst states to start a business are: Rhode Island, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Hawaii, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Vermont, New York, and West Virginia.
