CNBC’s industry experts used more than 64 different metrics in 10 categories to rank Ohio No. 10.
With excellent infrastructure and a low cost of doing business, Ohio ranks as the tenth best states for business, according to CNBC’s recently published economic scorecard.
In addition to coming in fourth for infrastructure and eighth for cost of doing business, high rankings in education (No. 11), technology & innovation (No. 13), access to capital (No. 13), and low cost of living (No. 15) bolstered the Buckeye State’s overall rank. Access to airports, shipping hubs, and major markets in nearby states were all cited as contributing to Ohio’s business advantages.
The state’s score was tempered by lower rankings in quality of life (No. 34), business friendliness (No. 32), and the overall economy (No. 30). The study specifically noted poor health and pollution as key issues impacting the state’s business environment.
CNBC’s industry experts used more than 64 different metrics in 10 categories to rank states in areas such as taxes, wages, rental costs, average commute times, and air travel availability.
