The report ranks states across 26 key indicators of startup success.
According to Wallethub’s 2019 “Best & Worst States to Start a Business” report, Missouri was ranked No. 34. The state ranked 42nd for business environment, 35th for access to resources, and 16th for business costs.
To determine rankings, Wallethub compared the 50 states across 26 key indicators of startup success to determine the most fertile grounds in which to launch and grow an enterprise.
The 10 best states to start a business are: Texas, Utah, Georgia, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Florida, Arizona, California, Montana, and Colorado. The 10 worst states to start a business are: Rhode Island, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Hawaii, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Vermont, New York, and West Virginia.
