Date: January 16, 2019

Governor Tony Evers has requested a Committee on Entrepreneurship and Innovation be established at the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, a proposal strongly backed by NFIB.

According to the announcement, the Governor believes WEDC should make entrepreneurship and innovation a priority, “…ensuring that entrepreneurs and Main Street businesses benefit from economic development funding.”

Mark Hogan, WEDC CEO said, “providing support and resources to Wisconsin’s entrepreneurs is vital to helping new businesses grow and thrive in our state.”

NFIB’s State Director Bill G. Smith has conveyed support for the committee, and commended Governor Evers for focusing on small business, and making small business growth and creation a priority at the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
