Indiana Innovation Institute Speeds Technological Breakthroughs

Date: February 06, 2019

The group launched in 2017.

A new Indiana partnership between businesses, government and academia aimed at accelerating innovation is helping the state speed into the future.

The group is reaching out to Hoosier small business owners, one of the state’s most consistent sources of innovation. If you have an innovative idea, the Indiana Innovation Institute can help make it happen.

“Our work thus far has largely involved engagement with our state’s top universities, but a critical element to the successful development of new technologies must involve business and industry both large and small,” said Julie Griffith, executive Vice President for strategy. “Partnerships between academia, industry and government are not only rare, they will be crucial to the new discoveries that will drive U.S. military and economic dominance.”

Led by General Gene Renuart, USAF (Retired), the consortium helps create new innovations. IN3 focuses on technological breakthroughs in areas including microelectronics, hypersonics and electro-optics.

The Indiana Innovation Institute (IN3), launched in 2017, is an applied research institute established to rapidly and efficiently solve emerging technical challenges for the Department of Defense, NSWC Crane, and others.

To advance those partnerships, IN3 formed the Indiana Consortium for Advanced Technology Transition (INCATT). By joining INCATT, you can help generate the momentum to solve our toughest defense challenges.

Griffith presented to NFIB’s Indiana Leadership Council in 2018.

“We can provide access to current and relevant defense technologies, procurement requirements and policy issues, and can offer opportunities to maximize the potential of your company,” Griffith said.
