Does Your Business Sell School Supplies?

Date: July 19, 2018

Summer’s almost over, and that means back to school. Earlier this year, Governor Rick Scott signed into law the Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. During this sales tax holiday, which takes place August 3-5, applicable school supplies will not be subject to sales tax.

Florida law directs that no sales tax or local option tax will be collected on purchases of:

• Clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $60 or less per item
• Certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item

If your business sells these school supplies and plans to participate in the Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, we want to hear from you! Email [email protected] to let us know you’ll be participating.
