NFIB Hosts Small Business Issues Meeting with Business-Friendly State Legislators

Date: June 01, 2016

Members of the small business community met at NFIB member business JD Sign Company
on Tuesday, May 24 to discuss legislation and issues currently being
considered by the Delaware General Assembly. The discussion was lead by
State Director, Mike O’Halloran. House Minority Leader Danny Short and Senator Brian Pettyjohn also joined us to give an insider point of view on these issues and they listened to the concerns of the attendees.

Issues Discussed:

  • HB283,
the Veterans, Skilled  Workers and Community Workforce Act – The
measure would require  a large  percentage of workers to reside within
the legislative district where the state-funded construction project is
slated. If that guideline cannot  be met, workers would have to come
from the county where the project is based.
  • The proposed minimum wage increase
  • The Stormwater Regulation battle

If
you weren’t able to make it to the meeting, but would like to share
feedback or concerns with NFIB please email Member Support Manager,
