On June 2, Gov. Bill Lee announced the use of federal CARES Act funds to help small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Officials estimate that 33,000 firms may qualify, but the state Department of Revenue has awarded grants to only about 13,000.
That means a lot of small businesses may be leaving money on the table.
If your business qualifies for relief, you might have received an email or a letter from the state asking you to fill out an online certification on our TNTAP website.
Once you complete the certification and the department confirms eligibility, a relief payment will issued. Payments range between $2,500 and $30,000, depending on gross sales.
