Tell Legislators to Vote YES on the Unlock Michigan Legislative Initiated Petition

Date: June 15, 2021

Last year, NFIB supported the “Unlock Michigan” ballot initiative that would repeal the Emergency Powers of Governor Act of 1945 (Public Act 302 of 1945).

The Michigan Board of Canvassers certified the initiative on Thursday, April 22, 2021. The Legislature now has 40 days to either pass the initiative or allow it to go to the ballot in November of 2022. Citizen initiated legislation like this petition only requires a majority in both the House and Senate and does not require the Governor’s signature.

Contact your legislators now and ask them to vote YES on Unlock Michigan and put a stake through the heart of this harmful law. Click here to make your voice heard.
