Steps Toward Reopening New Jersey

Date: April 28, 2021

This week Governor Murphy announced he was easing restrictions on indoor catered events and outdoor gathering limits.  Effective May 10, indoor room capacities will increase to 50 percent with a maximum of 250 individuals for weddings, school proms, political events, funerals and performances.  While dance floors will be allowed at catered events they must remained closed at bars and other businesses.  Outdoor gatherings such as carnivals and fairs will also be permitted to operate at 50 percent.   While we are grateful catering facilities can start opening to 50 percent capacity it is not enough.  The state’s public health metrics have improved and continue to trend in the right direction. The Governor stated he is hopeful to increase this limit again before Memorial Day.  Let’s hope this happens.
