STATEMENT: 'Modified' Phase 2 Comes at Crucial Time for LA Small Businesses

Date: November 24, 2020

NFIB State Director Dawn Starns released the following statement today in response to the decision to revert to tighter COVID-19 restrictions ahead of the holidays:

“The decision to revert to a ‘modified’ Phase 2 comes as Louisiana’s independent shops and restaurants are preparing for Small Business Saturday and the holiday shopping season. This pandemic has taken a tremendous toll on Louisiana’s small businesses. Hopefully, people will continue to support local businesses, if not in person then online or over the phone, and avoid crowds by taking advantage of delivery and curbside pickup.

“Small businesses are doing everything they can to protect people’s well-being, but they won’t get through this crisis without the support of their communities.”
