Refusal to Work Form Now Available to TN Employers

NFIB members are expressing concerns that some employees who have been furloughed and asked to return to work are declining to do so. The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development has set up a refusal to work form for employers to complete in these situations. Employees who decline to return to work under certain circumstances will no longer remain eligible for unemployment benefits.

The department has issued an extensive FAQ sheet that employers should review before completing the refusal to work form, as well as an interactive FAQ sheet that also can be helpful.

NFIB continues to encourage our members to take the governor’s Tennessee Pledge to make workplaces safe for employees and their customers during the pandemic.
