NFIB State Director Dawn Starns released the following statement today in response to last night’s vote on a $300 million relief package for Mississippi’s small businesses:
“The decision to temporarily close thousands of small businesses to slow the spread of COVID-19 was necessary but devastating to Mississippi’s job creators. Last night’s vote to apportion $300 million of the $1.25 billion the state received under the federal CARES Act to help small businesses recover from the shutdown is deeply appreciated.
“Our elected leaders recognize that small business is the engine that drives Mississippi’s economy, and these grants are going to make it easier for small businesses to reopen and allow people to get back to work.”
