NFIB Activism Delivers Big Win in PA House to Protect Your Business From COVID-19 Lawsuits.

Date: April 14, 2021

Now We Need the PA Senate to Act. Take Action Today!

Last week, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed critically important legislation to protect small businesses like yours from predatory and frivolous COVID-19 lawsuits. HB 605 passed the house 107-94. Hundreds of direct messages from NFIB members like you flooded State Reps’ inboxes and made a difference.

We need to do it again. This time in the Pennsylvania State Senate!

Small businesses in Pennsylvania have endured a full year of unprecedented challenges and an uncertain future. The pandemic’s economic fallout – made worse by Governor Wolf’s draconian and arbitrary restrictions and shutdowns – have forced many small businesses to the breaking point.

Even though states across the nation have taken action to provide small business owners some basic liability protection from COVID-19 related suits, Governor Wolf vetoed similar legislation in 2020. That’s why it’s so important to send a strong message with bipartisan support from the State Senate.

Please click here to take action and tell your state senator how important enacting this legislation is for your business.

House Bill 605 (A00598) provides targeted, temporary protection from lawsuits for our healthcare heroes and those manufacturing much needed personal protective equipment. It also protects shops, farms, restaurants, plants, offices, and non-profits from frivolous lawsuits alleging exposure to COVID-19.

Please take action now to make sure your state senator hears from you and so Governor Wolf gets the message – it’s time to protect Main Street businesses and local job creation.
