Effective April 5, New York State announced that the 11 p.m. curfew for casinos, movie theatres, bowling alleys, pool halls, gyms, and fitness centers were lifted. The 11 p.m. curfew remains in effect for bars and restaurants, and catered events must finish by midnight.
Additionally, New York State announced that performing arts and entertainment venues can reopen at 33 percent capacity effective April 1. Venues can host up to 100 people indoors or up to 200 people outdoors. If all attendees present proof of completed vaccination or recent negative test result before entry, capacity can increase up to 150 people indoors or up to 500 people outdoors. New York has announced the creation of “Excelsior Pass,” a digital or print pass that shows proof of COVID-19 Vaccination or negative test results. The pass can be stored digitally on smartphones or can be printed from the Excelsior Pass website. This program is voluntary for businesses.
