Massachusetts Prepares for a Full Reopening

Date: May 19, 2021

After more than a year of shutdowns, restrictions, rollbacks, and guidelines, Massachusetts is allowing businesses to fully reopen on May 29, 2021. This includes an end to pandemic-related restrictions as well as doing away with the mask mandate (leaving the mask decision to employers).

Last month, Governor Baker initially announced a reopening date of August 1st, but business groups like NFIB argued Massachusetts would lag behind our neighboring states. However, as the vaccination rate increased and case numbers dropped, Baker decided businesses in every industry will now be allowed to open at 100% capacity just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
