Delta Variant and Other Impacts on Small Business

Date: October 19, 2021

October Salem Business Journal column by NFIB Oregon State Director Anthony Smith

NFIB Oregon thanks the Salem Business Journal for giving small business space every month to have its say. In it October issue, State Director Anthony Smith discusses the Delta variant and other impacts on small business.

“So, we have a situation where small businesses are unable to fully stock their inventories – and even when they can, they are likely to be short-staffed and unable to sell as much of that inventory as they could if they could keep workers on the clock and preserve their normal hours of operation. Bottom line here: the economy is experiencing low levels of supply. At the same time, we know household incomes in Oregon are up big since the start of the pandemic and people have money to spend.”
