Sharon Sykes was recently named grassroots manager for Connecticut, New Jersey, Virginia, and West Virginia.
She will work closely with the state directors to help run NFIB’s grassroots programs and encourage members to participate in the legislative and political processes.
“We’re really happy to have Sharon on our team,” Senior Grassroots Manager Sarah Waters said. “Sharon brings a lot of energy and experience to NFIB, and that’s critical when it comes to helping the voice of small business be heard.”
Prior to joining NFIB, Sharon worked for the Virginia Manufacturers Association and the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild, where she served as director of member services. She previously worked for the Virginia Retail Merchants Association and Circuit City Stores Inc. and served as a policy and communications specialist in the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry. She holds a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and a master’s degree in public administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
