Small business owners nationwide may be more optimistic than ever before, but in Colorado, they face a tight labor market, which could bring challenges in 2018.
The Colorado Business Economic Outlook 2018 found that labor shortages will continue throughout the year. And the state’s relatively low unemployment of 2.6 percent also contributes to the shortage.
“My members have shared with me that it’s getting more difficult to find workers, and it’s driving the wage rates up,” NFIB Colorado Tony Gagliardi told Watchdog.org. “Our legislature over the last few years has passed several bills on certain types of workforce training.”
