Small businesses in the area have until June 16 to apply
Following a request from Gov. Jared Polis, the U.S. Small Business Administration announced on September 14 the availability of $2 million in loan availability to small businesses in six counties affected by the I-70 closures.
“The disaster declaration makes SBA assistance available in Eagle, Garfield, Mesa, Pitkin, Rio Blanco and Routt counties in Colorado; and Grand and Uintah counties in Utah,” said a news release issued by the SBA.
“We took action immediately to help Coloradans impacted by the Glenwood Canyon closures and this additional funding will provide continued support to the small businesses affected by this devastating disaster,” said the governor in a news release.

The deadline for applying for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan is June 16, 2022.
“Applicants may apply online, receive additional disaster assistance information and download applications at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/,” according to the SBA. “Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email [email protected] for more information on SBA disaster assistance.”
